About the course

Hi, I’m Swasti, your mentor for this course! Most jewelry designers are taught how to render metal jewelry in three standard gold tones, but they often miss out on learning how to render different surfaces. Everything around us is made up of one or more surface types, and without understanding these surfaces, it’s impossible to fully visualize a product, let alone translate it onto paper. Without this knowledge, designs often appear flat and two-dimensional, whereas the industry values designs that are dynamic, layered, and three-dimensional.

Hence, I’ve created this course to teach you how to render 7 different metal surfaces in 3 gold tones. To help you apply these techniques, I’ve also included lessons on rendering metal objects and jewelry in various gold tones. Additionally, I’ve covered how to render three bonus gold tones—black, blue, and green—reflecting the innovative alloys used in modern jewelry-making.
